Jefferson Hotel to reopen
After a two-year, multimillion-dollar renovation, the Jefferson Hotel in Washington, D.C., will reopen in August 2009. The 99-room hotel will include 20 suites, and prices will range from $380-$850, depending on the season and room size.
Hotels in the nation’s capital have not felt the economic crunch as much as those in other areas, and General Manager Franck Arnold believes that guests will be willing to pay for quality.
The hotel is departing from its previous formal appearance, and will now feel more like a Parisian apartment, says Arnold. The Jefferson will offer guests free wireless Internet and shoe-shining service, as well as environmentally friendly cleaning products and afternoon tea services.
