The city council in Tuscon, Ariz., voted to proceed with the development of a 525-room hotel to be built adjacent to the Tucson Convention Center. The $167 million hotel will have 36,000 square feet of meeting space and parking building for nearly 1,200 vehicles. The hotel is expected to open in 2012 and to be managed by Sheraton.
