Keep America Meeting campaign awarded
The NY Metro Chapter of the International Special Events Society has awarded the Keep America Meeting campaign two Big Apple Awards for Best Corporate Social Responsibility Initiative and Best Use of Social Media. The award, given on July 6, recognizes excellence in the special events industry.
“Keep America Meeting took action at a time when the meetings and events industry was at a crossroads,” says Jennifer Quinones, CSEP, president of the ISES NY Metro Chapter. “Keep America Meeting went above just promoting meetings and events; they took a stand to protect our industry, secure jobs and bolster our national economy.”
Launched in February to support the meetings industry, the Keep America Meeting online petition received more than 21,000 signatures, which were delivered by the U.S. Travel Association to the Senate Commerce Committee. The campaign also organized the U.S. Travel Association’s first Travel Rally Day by leveraging the power of social media to connect the community online.
