Worktopia, a meetings management technology provider announced plans in August to automate the end-to-end process for real-time booking of small, offsite meetings. Using Universal Meeting Solution (UMS) technology, Worktopia allows meeting planners to search, compare and book space for simple meetings, and arrange catering, AV equipment and overnight group accommodations online.
Remote conferencing room sourcing will enable hotels, businesses and conference centers to upload inventory into the system and determine which available rooms are properly equipped. Once users book a room, they can invite attendees to register for the physical or virtual components of the meeting.
Marriott International and Starwood Hotels & Resorts announced plans to install UMS technology this year. “Since we have the meeting room inventory and hotels already, having the hotel designate whether that room is equipped for videoconferencing or telepresence is all the hotels have to do, and then load in their pricing for that,” said John Arenas, CEO of Worktopia.
