Robberies steer cruises away from Nassau
Three cruise ship companies canceled excursions to parts of Nassau, Bahamas, after police reported several armed robberies that targeted tourists. Carnival, Norwegian Cruise Line and Disney Cruise Line are just a few of the vessels that transport 2 million cruise passengers through the port of Nassau each year. Carnival spokeswoman Jennifer de la Cruz says the decision to suspend trips to Earth Village, one of Nassau’s last natural areas, is temporary. Norwegian Cruise Line and Disney Cruise Line officials have also suspended excursions within Nassau.
