Convention sales

As the vice president of convention sales, Gunn is responsible for operations of greater Birmingham’s convention sales staff in booking state, regional, national and international convention business.

“Being awarded is a real honor and knowing that I am helping our community and our state gives me a great sense of pride,” says Gunn. “What I like most about being vice president of sales is having authority without having total responsibility.”

Gunn currently serves as a board member for the National Coalition of Black Meeting Planners. He finds inspiration in his family, sales team and the president of the Greater Birmingham CVB, Jim Smither.

“I truly enjoy what I do,” Gun says. “It a wonderful thing selling a city that has helped change the world.”
