Passport fees go up

On July 13, the price for passport renewals jumped $35, from $75 to $110. The fee for adults rose from $100 to $135, while children under 16 are an extra $20 or $105. For the first time, frequent travelers who want to add more pages to their passports to hold more stamps are being charged $82. Passport cards for Americans traveling to the Caribbean, Canada or Mexico are also more expensive. Cards for adults are $55, up $10; children are $40, up $5. See chart for all fee increases. This is the first increase in passport fees since 1995.
