Special Places: The Grand Chapel
This near century-old marvel, a Wichita landmark with its vaulted cathedral roof and towering colonnade, was built in 1914 as a home for Christian Scientists. The church served as a place of worship until six years ago. The Grand Chapel’s inspirational architectural design remains, from trey ceilings and stained glass windows to a truly grand staircase and a working antique pipe organ. The main auditorium seats up to 700 for seminars and the banquet hall 300 for receptions.
