Chris Devine came to meeting planning about the same time he came to Campus Outreach Ministries—as a student at Southeast Missouri State University. “I was never the worst guy in my crowd and always attended church regularly, but God really changed my heart in college,” Devine says. Golf also shaped the Saint Louis native’s career path. “I started a golf club and helped organize a league for the Southeast Missouri students, some of whom were involved in Campus Outreach,” he says. He impressed COM staffers enough with his deal-making among the local courses and country clubs (“We never paid full price,” he says) that they eventually invited him to join their staff. These days Devine oversees all of COM’s administrative functions, from planning about 15 meetings and events a year to financial services. He also works with the business community to help seniors transition from college into the work force. —Marc Boisclair
