When Rebecca Hodges was a freshman at North Carolina State, she discovered the campus ministry Campus Crusade for Christ, and it changed her life. Upon graduation, she took a job with the interdenominational group—now a 60-year-old organization—and she’s been there ever since. The largest event she works on is Christmas conference, a biennial celebration in Atlanta that welcomes more than 1,000 attendees. Another important aspect of her job is fund development, as the program is completely self-supporting. Overseeing campus events for colleges in Alabama, Georgia, Florida and Mississippi, Hodges collaborates with students and staff to create conferences that unite those seeking a deeper devotion to Christ or who want to learn how to share their faith with others. Because each campus has its own feel, what works for one campus might not necessarily work for another, so Hodges’ goal is to create events that have the most impact on all students. Hodges and her husband, Kris (pictured with her and also on staff with Cru), are expecting a baby in October. —E. Caslavka
