Amy Cato
Event Coordinator, LifeWay Christian Resources
Nashville, Tennessee
Age: 35
“I always knew that I was a planner and an organizer; however, I never knew that God would use those personality traits to lead me into the career I love.” Amy Cato’s BA in English seemed an unlikely entry. After graduation from Union University, a temp job as a LifeWay summer camp organizer became a three-year, part-time role. Twelve years later she continues to grow with the organization. A full-time position, originally to initiate and develop LifeWay Women’s simulcasting events, turned into her current role as event coordinator for three signature event series, which draw 100,000 attendees annually: Living Proof Live with Beth Moore, You and Your Girl, and Abundance. “Along with a demanding travel schedule and office responsibilities, I am the mom of a 4.5-year-old and have baby No. 2 on the way. I love the challenge of finding the perfect rhythm of being a full-time event coordinator and mom,” she says. “What I do is not rocket science, but it definitely requires a…perfect balance of a strong logistical mind and a love of people and building relationships. I love this work and believe that God designed me to do it.” —K. Manfredi
What inspires you to do your job?
“I love that my current role has an eternal impact. I don’t just plan distraction-free events for the comfort of women. I strive for perfection in planning events so women can come into the event and worship God and fall in love with His Word without distraction.”
