Booking and hosting the General Council of The Assemblies of God, one of the largest conventions Phoenix has ever hosted, is one of Donn Oswald’s most memorable experiences. He’s been in the hotel business for 23 years—getting his start setting up meeting rooms at a Holiday Inn for a work study program in high school. Perhaps his ambitious beginnings at age 15 led to his ability to work with the multitude of groups he handles today, which range from 10 to an incredible 70,000. Oswald, who won the Copper Quill Award for Faith from the Phoenix chapter of the IABC, spends his free time with his wife and four children, sharing family activities such as skateboarding, baseball and soccer. —E.
