Kerri Goss

Conference and Events Manager, Peacemaker Industries
Billings, Montana
Age: 31

Getting ahead in any industry is more often a product of grace under pressure than anything else, and for Kerri Goss that has translated to anything from finding last-minute audiovisual equipment for a conference to speaking at Rejuvenate Marketplace about conflict resolution. A chance move to Billings, Mont., led Goss to her current job, which involves planning an annual conference for approximately 500 attendees, and coordinating speakers from Peacemaker Ministries for other events put on by churches and various organizations around the U.S. Even though she’s only been in the industry four years, the born planner, learned the value of investing in relationships early on. “Even though the Peacemaker Conference only comes around once a year, it’s the people I get to meet and work with that make it all worthwhile,” she says. “I also love seeing how the Lord works in people’s lives.” —E. Caslavka

What was the best advice someone gave you when you started in the industry?
“Early on, I was taught the value of investing in relationships. This industry is all about relationships—the ones you build with cities and hotels, other conference planners and, of course, the attendees who come to your conference.”
