Thorncrown Chapel

Nestled in the rolling Ozark hills near Eureka Springs, Ark., is Thorncrown Chapel, a 48-foot-tall woodland sanctuary with more windows than walls. Opened in 1980, the church holds services weekly, and the chapel is open for daily visitors. Its sister building, the Thorncrown Worship Center, seats more than 300 people and is the ideal location for a quiet conference retreat. The American Institute of Architects named Thorncrown Chapel the fourth top building of the twentieth century.
