In the Works: Omni Amelia Island Plantation Resort
An $85 million redevelopment is underway at the Omni Amelia Island Plantation Resort in Florida. Set to be complete next spring, renovations include an expanded conference center, additional guest rooms and more dining options. The 20,000 square feet of flexible meeting space, which includes a ballroom and pre-function area, will bring the total conference space to 70,000 square feet. On the north end of the resort, 155 oceanview guest rooms are under construction, and will increase the total number of rooms at the resort to more than 400. A collection of new restaurants on the property includes a steak house, tapas bar and the enhanced Marsh View Bar and Grill, which features a new 5,000-sq.-ft. marsh view deck.
