Crowne Plaza Houston Galleria opens
After undergoing a $20 million renovation, InterContinental Hotels Group has opened its seventh Crowne Plaza Hotel in the Houston area. Four miles from the George R. Brown Convention Center, the Crowne Plaza Houston Galleria Area is within five miles of major business and corporate offices, shopping areas and sports venues. The 207-room hotel has an outdoor heated pool and a large fire pit for outdoor events. For conferences, the hotel has 14,000 square feet of remodeled meeting space. It includes 10 meeting rooms and two ballrooms, the largest of which can accommodate a banquet for up to 500 guests. The Red Oak Room Restaurant and Lounge is also on-site, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner.
