Mercedes Dixon, Hyatt Regency Houston
Sales Manager
Houston, Texas
Age: 27
Resume: Mercedes Dixon began her career at the Hyatt Regency Atlanta front desk before graduating from Georgia State University with a marketing and management degree. She participated in a corporate management trainee program, worked in several departments, and realized that sales was her passion. Dixon left the company for a year, but returned to a sales position at the Hyatt Regency Houston. One of her first religious bookings was the Churches of Christ, an organization she still works with. Dixon has also booked Andrew Wommack Ministries twice for 1,500-person conferences. Dixon’s background as a non-denominational Christian helps her relate to clients. “You have to know how to listen and communicate,” she says. She works with entry-level sales managers to encourage them to be more responsive to the religious market’s needs. “You have to be very sensitive to people’s differences in principles and beliefs,” she says.
