Tessa Kranz, Anaheim Orange County VCB
Resume: As a child, Tessa Kranz decided she wanted to work for a tourist destination because of her obsession with theme parks and the way they operated. Although she worked as an event planner for the various organizations she was involved in while attending college at Cal State Fullerton, she had her mind set on a job in marketing with a CVB. The Anaheim Convention Center hired Kranz on as an intern, which turned into a coordinator position in the Anaheim/Orange County Visitor and Convention Bureau’s tourism department. “I believe I am an event planner at heart, but during my internship at the Anaheim Convention Center, I fell in love with the job and the people at the visitors bureau,” Kranz says. Now the bureau’s marketing manager, she is involved in the day-to-day branding of the VCB and works on many of its marketing projects, ad campaigns, trade shows and events.
Career Highlight: The AOCVCB’s “Travel Matters” video spotlighting the Orange County tourism industry. Kranz came up with the and coordinated the details for the video, which received a MarCom Ava Gold award in 2011. “I am proud to say that when I set my mind to something, I do it,” she says.
