The singer, songwriter, producer and musician is responsible for well-known Gospel songs including “The Presence of The Lord,” “In the Sanctuary,” “For Every Mountain” and “God Blocked It.” Carr graduated with a degree in fine arts from the University of Connecticut in Hartford, where he was mentored by gospel legend Richard Smallwood. He formed the Kurt Carr Singers in the early ’90s, releasing several albums including “Serious About It, “Awesome Wonder” and “One Church,” which was nominated for a Grammy. Carr has served as the director of the choir at West Angeles Church of God in Christ in Los Angeles and minister of music at Heritage Christian Center in Denver. He currently is the creative director of worship at Fountain of Praise Church in Houston.
