One Common Purpose
Last week at Rejuvenate Marketplace, hundreds of meeting planners gathered from all different churches, denominations and ministries with different challenges and goals, but one purpose: to plan life-changing meetings.
Iglesia Apostolica planner Ismael Uribe summed up the week when he opened the last day of Rejuvenate Marketplace with a prayer quoting Psalm 133:1-3: “How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity. It is like precious oil poured on the head, running down on the beard, running down on Aaron’s beard, down on the collar of his robe. It is as if the dew of Hermon were falling on Mount Zion. For there the Lord bestows his blessing, even life forevermore.”
From Christopher Gardner and Lopez Lomong’s humble stories that put our challenges in perspective to Jon Acuff’s insistence that we tell the haters in our life to hit the road, the speakers reminded us we’re all in this business together, though we may work at it from different angles. Education sessions allowed planners and suppliers to share ideas and resources, and new relationships were built to continue the collaboration at home.
We don’t have to wait until next year in Daytona Beach, Fla., to do it again. We need your help as the Rejuvenate community to continue to share with one another. Take advantage of our Facebook page—it’s there for you as an open forum to discuss the articles and news we post, and so is the comment section below every article on our website. Tell us when your event tries new formats or ideas, and post photos of your event on Instagram tagged with #rejuvF2F so we can share them in our Face-to-Face section online and in the magazine.
Rejuvenate Marketplace takes place once a year, but the community can continue year-round. Help us make sure it does.
