Emojis At Your Service

By Hayley Panagakis, January 10, 2016

Coinciding with Apple’s iOS 9 update that added more than 150 new emojis to the iPhone keyboard in October, Aloft Hotels launched a program allowing guests to order room service via emojis. Aloft TiGi Emoji Room Service (short for Text it. Get it.) is exclusively available at Aloft Manhattan Downtown – Financial District with several packages available by sending an emoji-filled text to the front desk. Here are three combos bringing everything from treats to toothpaste right to your door.

THE RE:FRESH: Toothpaste and brush, razor, shaving cream, deodorant ($10)

THE MUNCHIES: Cola-Cola, Doritos, Snickers, chocolate brownie ($10)

RJ1512_Emojis_SurpriseSURPRISE ME: Mystery swag ($25)

Convention centers can take a page from the Aloft playbook by adding these emoji ideas to its contact info for planners on-site. Not only would it be a cutting-edge move, it would also provide quick access to assistance from staff. Props to the first convention center who lets planners raise and lower the temperature using the imgres-3 and imgres-4 emojis.
