Connect Faith 2019 Memory Maker: Kermit R. Madison

By Connect Staff, July 25, 2019

Kermit R. Madison, MBA, M.S., works as senior director of multicultural and West Coast sales for Memphis Tourism in Memphis, Tennessee. As a 2019 Memory Maker, Madison discusses his passion for the events industry.

What I do: I’m responsible for soliciting meeting and convention business from multicultural, religious and national associations. I research and qualify potential customers who bring citywide and convention business to Memphis. I also showcase the city and all it has to offer to ensure conference attendees have an enjoyable and lasting impression of Memphis.

Greatest career accomplishments: I was named 2011 supplier of the year by the National Coalition of Black Meeting Planners and am a four-time winner of the Memphis Tourism salesperson of the year. I was also instrumental in securing the Church of God in Christ Holy Convocation’s return home to Memphis (2021-2023).

Impressive stats: I have booked more than $200 million in economic impact from meetings and conventions for the city.
