Connect Faith 2019 Memory Maker: Suzie Masse

By Connect Staff, July 25, 2019

Suzie Masse is director of special events and projects for The Navigators U.S. in Colorado Springs. As a 2019 Memory Maker, Masse discusses her passion for the events industry.

What I do: I direct the daily operations of the national special events department. I oversee strategy and planning of special events and projects that help connect and build relationships with Navigator staff, ministry constituents, donors and prospective donors. My position helps with strengthening, equipping and inspiring each person to more deeply embrace The Navigators’ calling and values, and increase funding for U.S. Navigator ministries.

Impressive stats: I directed an event for our Hispanic ministry and we budgeted based on 155 attendees. We had 250 attend and still stayed within the original budget.

Event I am proud of helping produce: I was involved with several cultural-development training events that our organization required all our staff and missionaries in the U.S. to complete within a three-year time frame. This helped our staff understand how our personal bias and prejudices impact how we interact with others and to understand historical injustices and the impact those have had on communities of color.
