America’s Bible-Minded Cities

Which U.S. cities may be best positioned to understand your faith-based group’s unique needs? Turn to an annual study by the American Bible Society and Barna Group for insight. Each year, the two groups work together to rank America’s media markets based on levels of Bible engagement. Taking the top spot, with 51 percent of its population identifying as Bible-minded, were the towns of Birmingham (above), Anniston and Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Here’s how the top five rounds out:

1) Birmingham/Anniston/Tuscaloosa, Alabama

2) Chattanooga, Tennessee

3) Kingsport/Johnson City/Bristol, Tennessee

4) Roanoke/Lynchburg, Virginia

5) Shreveport, Louisiana
