Bible Museum Coming to D.C.

By Rejuvenate Staff, November 19, 2014

The world’s largest museum dedicated to the Bible is scheduled to open in Washington, D.C. in 2017. Built upon the dreams and massive collection of Steve Green, the president of craft store chain Hobby Lobby, the eight-story facility will house 44,000 Biblical artifacts Green has collected. The $800 million project will sit two blocks from the National Mall, and at 430,000 square feet, it will be among the biggest museums in the nation’s capital, making it an appealing off-site venue for faith-based events. Full details about the museum have not been made public, but it’s known there will be three distinct sections of focus on the Bible: history, stories and its influence on society. The history section will look like a traditional museum; the storytelling will resemble a theme park and the influence exhibits will incorporate social media.
