Universal Orlando to Add Fifth Hotel to Resort in 2016

By Christine Barrett, September 11, 2014

Loews Sapphire Falls Resort will be a new contender in Orlando’s meetings market when it opens at Universal Orlando Resort in summer 2016. The Caribbean-themed hotel will be the fifth property built on-site at Universal. Planners looking ahead to 2016 are currently able to reserve their spots at the resort.

The hotel will have 1,000 guest rooms and suites, as well as 131,000 square feet of meeting space. Facilities include two ballrooms and 43,000 square feet of pre-function space. It is located between the new Cabana Bay Beach Resort and Loews Royal Pacific Resort, and is connected to the latter by a covered, air-conditioned bridge. When the expansion at Loews Royal Pacific is complete, the two properties will provide a combined 272,000 square feet of space.

Those staying at Loews Sapphire Falls will have early admission to Universal’s parks. Shuttles and water taxis can transport guests to the surrounding dining and entertainment options. Recreation options will include a sand beach and resort-style pool with waterslide.
