To have the fastest Wi-Fi in Silicon Valley is no easy feat, but a $2 million renovation completed in September gave San Jose Marriott that bragging right. Meeting space at the AAA Four Diamond property was updated in the renovation, and Internet bandwidth was increased in 22 meeting rooms and 506 guest rooms. Each guest room now has its own wireless router, which supports up to six devices, and a new in-room entertainment system that provides access to Netflix, Hulu and YouTube on guest room TVs.
San Jose Marriott also uses the chain’s Red Coat Direct app for meeting planners as well as mobile check-in and checkout.
San Jose Marriott has 21,000 square feet of meeting space, including the 9,750-sq.-ft. San Jose Ballroom. The hotel is connected to the 550,000-sq.-ft. San Jose McEnery Convention Center, also fresh from a 2013 expansion. It is 4 miles from Mineta San Jose International Airport and 36 miles from both Oakland International Airport and San Francisco International Airport.
