Site Visit: Renaissance St. Louis

Renaissance St. Louis Grand Hotel has no problem showing off its fresh makeover just in time for spring’s triumphant arrival in the Show-Me State. An anticipated midseason unveiling will highlight updates to all 917 guest rooms, the lobby, as well as meeting and event space. Additionally, bandwidth throughout the property has been increased from 100 MB to 1,000 MB in private and public spaces.

The downtown hotel, which has direct access to the four-in-one America’s Center Convention Complex, kicked off its renovation with a transformed lobby. It was renamed the Marriott Greatroom, which includes a new, yet-to-be-revealed dining concept, lobby bar, market and private dining room. Guest rooms will get an entirely new treatment, with “contemporary decor, upgraded technology and plenty of places to plug in, unwind and relax,” says John Malkus, the property’s director of sales and marketing.

In terms of meeting space, two new rooms—the 3,100-sq.-ft. Gateway Room and 1,200-sq.-ft. Missouri Room—are being added to the existing 50,000 square feet, along with 2,200 square feet of prefunction space. The 11,000-sq.-ft. Landmark Ballroom is also getting a face-lift with new carpet, vinyl and airwalls.
